The Newberry Site was purchased by Schweitzer-Mauduit in June, 2007. The site contains coating and slitting equipment as well as labs, warehousing and distribution facilities. The site is Schweitzer-Mauduit’s Center of Excellence for the development, production and distribution of banded cigarette papers, dedicated to serve the growing Lower Ignition Propensity (LIP) cigarette markets in North America and globally.
